Looking for a job can be a competitive experience. With the Working Wardrobe VOA is providing low-income and/or previously homeless women with business attire and the tools they need for success as they conduct job searches and move into the workforce.

VOA's Working Wardrobe provides women with:

• Business attire to dress appropriately and professionally for job interviews and everyday work
• In addition VOA will provide guidance for: conducting oneself during job interviews (i.e. posture, eye contact, answering questions), applying make-up, appropriate hairstyles, and accessorizing for both interviews and the workplace.
• Assessments and referrals for adult support services as appropriate
• Information about where to obtain/purchase additional clothing at affordable prices, and how to budget for clothing purchases

The Working Wardrobe needs donations of:

• Women's Business Attire (larger sizes are especially needed)
• Business Casual Attire
• Scrubs/Nursing Uniforms
• Dress Shoes
• Uniform shoes
• Jewelry
• Accessories (purses, belts, etc.)
• Make-Up
• Personal hygiene items

Donations can be dropped of at any VOA store location, or you can call 585-647-1150 to schedule a free donation pick-up.

Ask the attendant that your donation be marked with a pink Working Wardrobe label. This will ensure your donation is sent directly to the program.

To utilize the Working Wardrobe program you must:

1. Get a referral from a caseworker associated with a community agency such as the YWCA or VOA.
2. Make sure your referral is on the letterhead of the referring agency.
3. Call 647-1150 to schedule an appointment.
4. Arrive at 214 Lake Avenue on time for your appointment.
5. Bring your referral letter with you to the appointment.
6. Enjoy your consultation and leave dressed for success!

If you are 15 minutes late and/or do not have your referral letter with you the appointment will need to be rescheduled.
