Volunteers of America Week

This is National Volunteers of America Week. Locally, March 8-13 has been proclamed Volunteers of America Week.  On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, representatives from the City of Rochester and Monroe County presented Dianne Newhouse, President and CEO with proclamations from Mayor Robert Duffy and Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks.

Volunteers of America Unveils Plans for $3 Million Project
Volunteers of Western New York’s President and CEO, Dianne Newhouse announced a $3 million renovation project to the agency’s supportive housing facility at 119 State Street. The project is funded by New York State through a Homeless Housing Assistance Program Grant. Construction partners are general contractor, LeChase Construction and Glasow Simmons Architecture. 
 
“We are proud to announce this major capital project, which will create 15 new units and upgrade 30 units of housing for homeless individuals. The scope of work will also include exterior enhancements that will improve the appearance of the building,” commented Dianne Newhouse, President and CEO.    Read Entire Press Release
